Justine L. Putnam

Justine L. (nee Graver) Putnam, MOM, and MeMe passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Alden Estates of Shorewood. Her 81 years were a true blessing to all that knew her.

MeMe is survived by her loving and devoted family; children, Wendy (Mark) Price, Melanie Podkulski, Tim (Kelly) Putnam; cherished Grandchildren, Erica (Nick) Haddon, Andrea (Mitch) Burton, Alexandra (Kyle) Thomas, Chad (Sam) Podkulski, Owen (Breanna) Price, Brianna Podkulski and Vanessa (Grant Byxbe) Price; adored Great Grandchildren, Juan, Miguel & Gabriel Haddon, Parker & Emmett Thomas, Frank Price & Miles Burton; Sister-in-law Shirley Van Duyne; and many other beautiful family members and many wonderful friends.

Justine was preceded in death by her wonderful parents, Albert and Margaret Graver. Her mother was completely blind, and her father only had sight in one eye, through these struggles they were truly amazing parents; her first husband Owen McClellan (the love of her life); her second husband Doug Putnam (her rock and soulmate); and her grandson Josh Nelson Podkulski, who she is finally holding in her arms.

Justine was an exceptional crafter, painter, artist, and cook. She was an exceptional mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and so many more roles to her family. She was loving, kind, and always listened. She had a great sense of humor, and was a friend and confidant to many. She never judged or criticized, and always tried to help in any way she could. It may have been a freeze pop, snickers bar, or a cold diet coke to cheer you up. She was always there for everyone who needed her. Her loving spirit will remain with us all. We will do our best to walk in her footsteps and do the best we can do.

Justine’s family will honor her and receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, Thursday, December 15th, 2022. A Visitation will be held from 9:30am until time of Funeral at 11:30am at 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423. Justine will be laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Justine’s name to Family Centered Hospice.
