Judith Eileen Carley (nee Mortenson)
74, of Frankfort, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at her home. Judith was born in Chicago to the late George and Laverne (nee Mitchell) Mortenson. Beloved wife of the late King Carley; loving mother of James (Mark Stephens) Hood, Barbara Hood, Cathleen Hood, and Jeffrey Hood; cherished grandmother of Michael (Brooke Boonstra) Hood, Danielle Kenealy, James Grear, Christina Grear, and Hayley Hill; proud great grandmother of Cameron and Zoey Hood; dear sister of Janet (Walter) Elkins and the late George Mortenson; special aunt of numerous nieces and nephews; also survived by her former husband and friend James Hood. Judith was retired from the State of Illinois Personnel Department. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd. New Lenox on Monday, November 19, 2018 from 3pm – 9pm. Funeral Service Tuesday, November 20, 2018 with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30am to St. Jude Catholic Church, New Lenox for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Interment will be private.
