Age 76, of Frankfort, passed away Friday, November 6th, 2020 at his home in Frankfort.

Joseph is survived by his loving family, wife, Helen Blount-McDonnell, children, William McDonald, Suzanne (Paul) Clover, Michael (Andrea) Blount, sister, Anna Moore, grandchildren, Aisling Clover, James (Noel) Blount, Kaitlyn Blount, Amanda Blount, Lauren Blount, Logan Blount, Olivia Blount, great grandchild, Noah Blount and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, William & Annie McDonald (O’Halloran), brothers Gerald McDonald, Billy McDonald and brother in-law, Seamus Moore.

Joseph was a proud and loyal member of the Mokena Fellowship.

He worked at Krups Engineering in Limerick before immigrating to the United States over 35 years ago. He worked for several years as a long-distance mover with his dear and departed friend Louie where he was able to enjoy seeing most of the lower 48 states of his adopted country. He also started a painting and decorating business with his son William. Later he returned to his trade as a tool and die maker, eventually retiring from Van Norman Molding in 2007. Joe was also a well known and liked Friday night bartender for many years at the Dubliner on Western Avenue in Chicago.

DUE TO THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC; WEARING A MASK AND SOCIAL DISTANCING IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND AND NO FOOD IS PERMITTED IN THE FUNERAL HOME AT THIS TIME.

Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Tuesday, November 10th, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral service, Wednesday, November 11th, 2020 with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 AM and then to St. Anthony Catholic Church, 7659 W. Sauk Trail, Frankfort, IL 60423 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private. For information www.kurtzmemorialchapel.com or 815-806-2225.

A memorial to celebrate Joe’s life will be held at a future date when his family and many friends can safely gather. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Mokena Fellowship Center located at P.O.Box 114, Mokena Illinois 60448.
