John W. Rodgers, Jr.

JOHN W. RODGERS, JR.

Age 92, of Mokena, former longtime resident of Canoga Park California, until returning “home” to the Chicago suburbs; he passed away Wednesday, August 12th, 2020 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox.

John is survived by his loving family, niece and nephew, Karen (Scott Hanish) Hestroffer, Berton (Salome Castilla) Hestroffer Jr., great niece, Yasmine Khoosnod, great beloved nephews, Jon (Karen) Hestroffer, Manuch Khooshnod, step daughters, Ann, Mary, former son in-law, Arturo Guillen, step granddaughter, Randyl (Shane) Marquis, step grandson, Raymond (Michelle) Rohm, step granddaughter Jennifer Guillen, great step grandchildren, Blanca & Crystal and his new puppy Jax. He was loved by all and will be missed by many.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John W. Sr. & Evelyn Rodgers (Beake), wife, Kathleen Rodgers, sister and best friend Eleanore (Berton Sr.) Hestroffer and his four legged friends, Rodgie, Jimbo, Patsy and Beef Stewie.

John was “living his best life” as an avid sports fan; he loved watching the Los Angeles Lakers, the Chicago Cubs, the Chicago Bears and golf with his nephew; he greatly enjoyed his martini everyday and a good steak dinner with those he loved.

John was known by family and friends as “Uncle” and the last years of his life were greatly enriched by his nephew Scott’s loving care giving and constant companionship.

DUE TO THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC ALL SERVICES AND INTERMENT WILL BE PRIVATE.
