John N. Smith
60, of Orland Park, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2016 with his loving family by his side. John was born in Joliet and was a lifelong New Lenox area resident. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandpa "Double". Loving husband of 39 years of Barbara A. (Minnito) Smith; devoted father of Ryan J. Smith and Megan A. (Ryan J.) Hill and loving "Double" to Lucas and Madelyn Hill and a third grandchild due in December; cherished son of Doris R. (Nelson) Smith; brother of Jennifer (Tony) Truppa; and a loving brother-in-law and uncle. Preceded in death by his father, John E. Smith; father and mother-in-law, Leo and Helen (Fumagalli) Minnito. John retired from the Illinois Tollway and Will County Highway Department, and was a member of the Rivals Club. He was a man who put his family first and will be greatly missed. A special thank you to Dr. Penaherrera for his care and support. In lieu of flowers, memorials in John's name to My Joyful Heart, Mokena, IL would be appreciated. Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at St. Jude Catholic Church 241 W. Second Ave, New Lenox for a visitation from 9am until time of Funeral Service at 11:00am.
