John Martinek

Age 64, of Peotone formerly of Matteson, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice House.

Loving husband of Terri (Welcome) Martinek; beloved father of Jim (Renee) Rorer, Michael Rorer, Sr., Laura Matthias and Mark Christensen; dearest brother of Cathy Shaver, Daniel Kaminski, Robert Martinek, John (Julie) Kaminski, Dean Martinek, Marla Dabe, Camalla (Brian) Ohrt, Diane (Don) Stender and Mark (Jacque) Kaminski; proud grandfather of Grace Christensen, Ashley Rorer, Leighton Christensen, Michael Rorer, Jr., Nicholas Rorer, Aly Matthias, Samantha Kaminski and Brett Kaminski; fond brother-in-law of Linda Pechtold, Kathy Evans, Sherry Driscol and Cindy (Bill) Simon.

John was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mildred “Dorothy” (Netrval) Martinek, step dad Anthony F. Kaminski and his brother Mike Kaminski.

John worked for IDOT (Illinois Department of Transportation) and was an active member of St. John Faith Church in Matteson.

Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
