Age 70, a resident of Frankfort, Illinois, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 18, 2020. Beloved Husband of Janine (nee Vacval); loving father of Scott (Sheri) Mahalick, Jim (Danielle) Mahalick, and John (Sharon) Mahalick; cherished grandfather (Papa) of Poppy, Matthew, Caleb, and Violet; Treasured son of June (nee Deaton) Mahalick, dear brother of Bill (Kathy) Mahalick; brother-in-law Tim Garland; and fond uncle of 15 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father John J Mahalick and sister Judy (nee Mahalick) Garland. Reverend John was the beloved Pastor of Free Christian Assembly Church. He faithfully served as a true shepherd of his flock since 1983. His years of ministry have impacted countless lives and will continue to do so through his steadfast congregation. He was the owner and founder of Universal Laminating since 1987. He cared deeply for all of his employees and business associates. His legacy as a business owner will be carried on by his three sons. Funeral services will be private for the family at Kurtz Memorial Chapel on Monday April 20.
