72, of New Lenox, passed away suddenly Saturday, November 14, 2015. John was born in Chicago to the late Ernest and Ruth (nee Blocker) Irvine. John was retired from the Chicago Tribune where he spent 41 years. He started out as a Copy Boy and worked his way up to Photographer. Beloved husband of 50 years of Linda (nee Miller); loving father of John D. (Lorrie) Irvine, Karen (Joe) O'Malley, Susan (Chris) Dudik and Stephanie (fiancé Jason Ooykaas) Irvine; cherished grandfather of Michael (Shannon) Waller, Stephanie (Mark) Kozlowski, Shannon (Rocco) DelRio, Christina (Octavio) Mexicano, Mya, Violet and Cecilia Dudik, Marti and Linda; great grandfather of Victoria, Dustin, Vincent, Giovanni and Jayden; dear brother of Thomas (the late Ruth) Irvine, Joanne (the late Leroy) Swanson and the late Ruth (the late Richard) Jensen. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd. New Lenox IL 60451 on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 from 3–9PM. Funeral service Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 11:00AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment at Maplewood Cemetery, New Lenox.
