John E. McClaughry
86, of New Lenox formerly of Park Forest, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016. John was born in Blue Island to the late James L. and Emily E. (nee Schmidt) McClaughry. Beloved husband of the late Mary Jane (nee Bertman); loving father of Charlene Marie (the late Eric William) Carlson, Catherine Ann Vaughan, and the late Cynthia Rose McClaughry; cherished grandfather of Jennifer Marie Carlson, Nicholas Adam (fiancée Michelle Furlan) Carlson, Jonathan Eric (fiancée Montana Houser) Carlson, Matthew John Vaughan, Chase Lee Vaughan, and the late Ashley Rose Carlson; dear brother of Elizabeth (Richard) Ulmer, the late James Leroy McClaughry, and the late Leroy McClaughry. John was employed as a brick layer by Local #21 for 43 years retiring in 1992. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. In lieu of flowers, memorials in John's name to Trinity Lutheran Church would be appreciated. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, IL 60451 on Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 2pm - 6pm. Visitation again on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, New Lenox from 10:00am until time of funeral service at 11:00am. Interment with Honors at Abraham National Cemetery will be private.
