Joan Gyurko

Joan Hudson Gyurko (nee Mills)
72, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2020. She was born in Chicago on January 1, 1948 to the late Frank and the late Eleanor Blaha. Joan was strong and witty and an avid lover of all sports, but was especially loyal to her Chicago teams. She was best known for becoming friends with everyone in the room! When you met Joan you never forgot Joan, because she never forgot you. Loving mother of Scott (Liz) Hudson, Susan McMann, Shawn Hudson and Christine (Matt) Conlon; cherished grandmother of Aaron (Jill) McMann, PJ McMann, Abigail McMann, Grace McMann, Drake Sands, Adam Hudson, Cal Hudson, Avery Hudson and Colton Conlon; proud great-grandmother of Eleanor and Elijah McMann; dear sister of the late Jim (Barb) Mills, Nancy (Lenny) Sydenstricker, and Ed (Diane) Blaha; loved aunt of many nieces and nephews. Private services were held. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
