Jeanne E. Walters

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Jeanne Ellen Walters [nee Carlton] Age 75, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022.

Survived by her husband of 38 years, Rick; her children, Margaret [David] Boenzi, Michelle [Robert] Black, Albert Leo Pierce [Loan Nguyen] and her daughter Erika [Michael] Weckler; her grandchildren Dustin, Jeanne, Christine, Danny and June; and her great-grandchildren Bradlie, Nevaeh, Areyaeh, and Ensley; her brother Jack Carlton [Lewis Newton]; and her caretaker Nicole Hampton.

Mrs. Walters was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Margaret Carlton [nee
Toth]; and her sister Sandra Lee Phillips [nee Carlton].

She was born in Chicago, IL and lived in Tinley Park. Jeanne was co-owner of Walters Welding Services; and studied art at JJC. One of her paintings “Chelsey” won the JJC award. She was a fierce advocate for Autism-Asperger’s, and pancreatic cancer research. She held a strong love for the arts and enjoyed singing, dancing, painting, and writing. She was a published poet and many people found comfort in her poem “If You Could Hear.” She did extensive genealogy research on her family tree and was a student of Shepherds Chapel where she did in-depth bible study. Her other passion was cooking. She loved to be in the kitchen and her lumberjack soup was a family favorite.

Her outgoing spirit will be greatly missed. She will always be remembered for being the life of the party by her endless efforts to make everyone feel welcomed and happy – always making “great fun memories.”
On Sunday, June 5, 2022, A “Celebration of Life” memorial is scheduled at Kurtz Memorial Chapel located at 102 Francis Rd, New Lenox IL, 60451. Open visitation is from 11am - 1pm with a service from1:00pm -1:30pm.
Interment has taken place at Fairmont Cemetery located at 9100 S. Archer Avenue Willow Springs, 60480.

In lieu of flowers donations to Autism Speaks or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in Jeanne's name would be appreciated.
