Janice E. Bartel

Age 84, of New Lenox, passed away Friday, September 30, 2022, at Lightways Hospice, Joliet, IL. Jan was born in Joliet, IL to the late Harold A. and Hazel M. (nee Muncey) Jacobs. Loving wife of the late Donald V. Bartel; dear sister of Terry (Judy) Jacobs and the late Gilbert (Carol) Jacobs; cherished aunt of Dawn (Tom) Polacek, Ryan (Brooke) Jacobs, Jennifer Jacobs, Danielle (James) Cieply, and Kaitlyn (Dale) Smith; proud great-aunt of 11. Jan retired in 2000 from the Accounting Department at Caterpillar after 41 years of service. She was also Treasurer of Caterpillar’s Retirement Club, and she volunteered at the Caterpillar Gift Shop. Jan will be missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers memorials in Jan’s name to Lightways Hospice or United Methodist Church of New Lenox would be appreciated. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd. New Lenox, IL on Thursday, October 6, 2022, from 4pm – 8pm. Funeral Services will be on Friday, October 7, 2022, at 10:00am in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet, IL.
