Jane E. Leech (nee Wilkinson)
Age 73, of New Lenox, IL formerly of Richton Park, IL, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. Jane was born in Herrin, IL to the late Herschel and Jamesena (nee Wasson) Wilkinson. Beloved wife, of 46 years of Doug Leech; loving mother of Christopher (Andrea) Leech and Allison (Michael) Sigler; cherished grandmother of Tyler and Cora Leech, and Layla and Maddie Sigler; dear sister of Bryan (Sandra) Wilkinson, the late John (Mary) Wilkinson, and her twin brother (she’s older by 55 minutes) Hub (Mary) Wilkinson; loved aunt of numerous nieces and nephews. Jane was a teacher in Park Forest School Dist. 163 for 34 years, retiring in 2003, and then worked as a Reading Recovery teacher from 2004 – 2009. Jane was an accomplished quilter and enjoyed making quilts for friends and loved ones. She was a member of Fiber Creations at the New Lenox Library. Jane was an avid golfer and longtime President of The Happy Wiffers Golfers. She was also an active tennis player for many years at Park Forest Racquet Club. Jane was a master pie maker and a lover of all kinds of flowers. She also enjoyed numerous hours of fun and laughter with her Bunco friends. “Ever Onward”. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox, IL on Saturday, September 10, 2022, from 11:00am until time of Memorial Service at 1:00pm.
