James Walter Townsend
77, late of New Lenox, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Silver Cross Hospital, New Lenox. Born in Wilton Center to the late William J. and Sara J. (nee Benn) Townsend. Survived by his loving family; daughter Patricia (Dick) Ooykaas; son, Michael J. (Stefanee) Townsend; grandchildren; Amanda, D.J. (Melissa) and Jason Ooykaas and Scott, Nathaniel and Caroline Townsend; a brother Edward (Violet); a sister Mary (Glen) Heusnar; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, Joy (nee Carstensen); a brother William and a sister Evelyn. Jim was a member of St. John's U.C.C., Mokena. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Carpenters Local #174. Family will receive friends at the Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd. New Lenox, IL 60451 on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 2-8PM. Funeral service Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 10:00AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment Peotone Cemetery, Peotone, IL.
