James R. Harroun

James Harroun, age 76, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at his home with his family by his side.

James is survived by his beloved wife Marcia (neeSartori) Harroun; children; Jonathan Harroun, Jodie (Kevin) Leahey, and Nicholas (Christine) Harroun; grandchildren, Payton, Brendan, Arya, Logan; siblings, David (Jean) Harroun, Maureen Talbot; and his uncle, Raymond Knapp

He is preceded in death by his parents James and Marjorie Harroun.

James will always be remembered for proudly serving his country during the Vietnam War. He was a member Tinley Park VFW. He enjoyed watching sports, especially when University of Illinois was playing. He found much enjoyment in fishing, but most of all he loved to cheer his grandchildren on at their sporting events. He was a loving and caring man and will be missed by all that knew him.

Services for James will begin on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 with a visitation at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd, in New Lenox, from 4-8pm. Services will continue the following day, Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, meeting at 10:45am for an 11am Committal Service with Military Honors.
