James Johnson

James Johnson, age 78, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Saturday, November 27, 2021.

James is survived by his children, James (Lana) Johnson and Laura Johnson; grandchildren, Samuel, Casey, Cate; and his sisters Mary (Brian) Johnson Andrews and Karen (Fred) Johnson Sweeney.

He is preceded in death by his wife Carol “Suzie” Johnson (nee Colon); and his parents George and Marion (nee Peer) Johnson.

James was a long-time resident of Frankfort and had been a private practicing attorney for over 40 years. He was a history and
movie buff, and in his spare time he enjoyed sitting down with a good mystery novel. He also enjoyed hitting the links, especially at Prestwick County Club. He loved to golf any chance that he got. He was a diehard Notre Dame Football fan and a big sports fan in general. He had a special place in his heart for all of his puppies, Zoey, Yogi, and Olivia.

Services for James will begin with a visitation at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, in Frankfort, IL on Tuesday, November 30th, 2021 from 4-8pm. Services will continue the following day with a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Mokena at 10:30am. According to James’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. in lieu of flowers, donations to the Dementia Society would be appreciated.
