James "Jim" Patrick Chmielewski

James “Jim” Patrick Chmielewski, 79, of Sauk Village passed away on April 14, 2022 at Franciscan Health in Dyer, IN. He was the husband of the late Beverly H. Chmielewski (2012), Father of the late Kenneth Chmielewski (1995), Edward Chmielewski of Bradley and Todd (Laura) Chmielewski of Bourbonnais. Grandfather of Ashley (Sam) Cash, Andrew Chmielewski and Isabella Chmielewski. Brother of Diane (Roger) Lauritzen of Rockford. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews and very good friends Charlotte and Sherryand his dog, Bear. Jim was born June 6, 1942 to the late Jacob and the late Lucille Chmielewski and raised in Lemont. A graduate of Illinois Inst. of Technology, Jim worked as an electrical engineer at Whiting Corp. He retired this past February and enjoyed woodworking, makingseasonal decorations, puzzles and the Wheel of Fortune. He was also a frequent shopper at Menards. Jim was a long-time parishioner at St. James Church in Sauk Village. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423. On Friday, April 22, 2022 Prayers at 9:00 a.m. at the Funeral home to St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 22400 Torrence Ave, Sauk Village, IL. For a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass.
