Irene B. Doncheff (nee Anderson)
Age 91 of New Lenox, passed away Monday, February 14, 2022, at home with family by her side. Irene was born in Chicago to the late Edwin and Amelia (nee Peterson) Anderson. Beloved wife of the late Ivan Doncheff, M.D. Loving mother of John (Deb) O’Brien, Todd (Jan) O’Brien, Kellie O’Brien, Dan O’Brien, and Chris O’Brien; cherished grandmother of Amy (Frank) Kempa-Kuchta, Tony (Christie) Gibertini, Patrick Murphy, Allison (Joel) Fishman, Molly (Tyler) Poe, Heather (Mark) Schodrof and Mimi O’Brien. Proud great-grandmother of Alexander Croft, Madelyn Irene Benoit, Vinny & Gino Gibertini, Jackson, Beckham, and Hunter Schodrof; dear sister of the late Margaret (Bill) Rosen. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Irene’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, P.A.W.S. Animals Shelter of Tinley Park or Wounded Warriors in Action. Irene’s family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel in New Lenox on Friday, February 18, 2022, from 3pm – 8pm. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022, 9:30 a.m. at Kurtz Memorial Chapel in New Lenox. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, in Evergreen Park, IL.
