Helen M. Persin (nee Halaburda) age 93, formerly of Euclid, Ohio,and recently of Frankfort, IL and Lemont, IL, resting in the Lord's arms as of Thursday, July 31. Daughter of the late Stanley and the late Magdalene (nee Mazaitis) Halaburda. Devoted wife of the late William F. (Bill) Persin. Loving mother of Cecilia (the late Dennis P. Sr) Murnighan and Margaret Persin. Doting Granny to Mary Ellen (Jeffrey D.) Nyman, Dennis Patrick (Dawn) Murnighan, Jr., and William H. (affianced to Stacey Tackett) Murnighan. Proud Great-Granny to Zachary, Nyman, Emma, Molly and Dennis Patrick Murnighan III. She was a beloved little sister to the late Joseph (the late Pauline) Halaburda, the late Stanley (the late Ann) Halaburda, the late Elizabeth (the late William A.) Adams, the late Margaret (the late Peter) Adames, the late Vincent (Josephine) Halaburda, the late Julia (the late William) Lutkus. Aunt, great-aunt, friend and neighbor too many.Helen, a child of the Depression, was proud to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. She was very creative and ingenious. Sewing and gardening were passions. She instilled in her daughters a love of learning which she espoused throughout her entire life. She was a parishioner of St. George's and St. William's in Ohio, who always had a rosary close at hand. She was a proud retiree of General Electric Nela Park.
In lieu of flowers, Mass donations are preferred. Family will greet visitors on Friday, August 8, at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL from 3 to 7 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be on Saturday, August 9, at St. Anthony Church, 7659 Sauk Trail, Frankfort, IL at 10:00 a.m. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Robert-St. William Parish, Euclid, OH at a later date.
