Gina Marie Koyer

January 10, 1967 — December 29, 2022

Gina Marie Koyer age 55 of Naples, FL, formerly of Villa Park, IL was called home on Thursday, December 29, 2022. Gina passed away peacefully in her sleep in the home she loved dearly. Gina was born in Elmhurst, IL on January 10, 1967, to Mitchell and the late RoseAnn Koyer. She lived most of her life in Villa Park, IL and recently retired and moved to Naples, FL where she lived for the past year. Gina is survived by her beloved father Mitchell Koyer, cherished life partner Michael Narcisi, loving sister Angela (Roger) Mariani, brother Anthony (Kathy) Koyer, nephews Anthony Cichorz Jr., Nicholas (Gianna) Cichorz, her niece Annalicia Costello, her extended family and the most wonderful group of friends. She is proceeded in death by her mother Rose Ann Koyer (nee D’Ambrosio). Gina spent her entire career teaching in Villa Park School District #45. She first began teaching at York Center School and then at Ardmore School where she herself attended school as a child. Teaching was her life, and she was very happy and proud to have lived out her childhood dream of becoming a teacher. She loved watching her students learn, grow and succeed, and was proud to have touched the lives of so many children. After retirement Gina enjoyed decorating her beautiful new home in Naples, FL. She enjoyed walks along the beach and around town taking in all the sites with her Partner Mike Narcisi. Her greatest passion was dinning out and taking long drives and taking in the sites. She was always very outgoing and took great joy in meeting new people and loved having the time to catch up with all her lifelong friends, which she was blessed to have many! Gina touched the lives of many people throughout her life. She was the kind of person who could light up the room with her smile and positive upbeat nature. Taking after her mother, she would selflessly always be trying to help others, before thinking about herself. May the bright light of her soul, which she cast upon all of those who knew her, family and friends alike, burn inside of us for the rest of our own days. For as long as we keep her light burning, she will live on within all of us. A visitation will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort IL 60423 on Sunday, January 8, 2023, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church, 310 S. Wheaton Ave, Wheaton, IL 60187 on Monday, January 9, 2023, at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow to Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
