George William Boyle, aged 88, lately of Mokena and longtime Oak Forest resident, passed away on November 12, 2021, at Clarendale of Mokena.
George is survived by his loving family, wife of 62 years, Virginia Boyle; children David (Anna) Boyle, Jennifer (Michael) Warner; grandchildren, Eric Boyle, Maxwell Boyle, Samantha Boyle, Madison Boyle, and nieces and nephews.
George was preceded by his parents, Herbert and Irene (nee McCormack) Boyle; sister Irene Pyrcioch; father-in-law Sebastian Fleg; mother-in-law Lillian (nee Chmielinski) Fleg; and sister-in-law Loretta Fleg.
George was a proud Army veteran and longtime employee of Tri-City Electric, where he worked as an accountant. He remained active and intelligent the whole of his life. He was a floor-stealing dancer and a frequent fisherman; a lover of bowling, badminton, racquetball, and a score of card games; and was perpetually plying a tinkering hand towards all manner of “doo-hickies”. A voracious reader until the last, George never failed to provide a witticism or clever barb towards whoever was lucky enough to converse with him.
He had a number of life-long friends, some of whom he has surely joined at a poker table up-high already. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
Family will receive visitors on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, with a visitation from 10am until the time of service at 12pm. George will be laid to rest at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Justice. In lieu of flowers, donations to Lightways Hospice or the American Legion would be appreciated.
