George Walter Brenski

George Brenski 80, of Homer Glen, IL was born June 6, 1943 in Germany and passed away June 9, 2023. Beloved husband of his bride Bonnie (Kolodziej) Brenski; loving father of Erik Brenski, and the late Jason Brenski, and his third son Doug (Ann) Shippy and their children Molly and Jason who lovingly called him grandpa; fond uncle of Kelsey Musial and Jordan Bienz (Tyler Bienz); great uncle to Quinton Bienz; brother-in-law to Diane Musial, and loyal companion to Payton. 

In youth George was a member of The Headaches Car Club, in which cars were his pure joy. 

He proudly enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1965. During the Vietnam War, he served in the 1st Infantry Division known as "The Big Red One." The U.S. Army recognized George with a Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and a Sharpshooter badge to name a few. He was honorably discharged when he completed his service as a Specialist (E-4) in the U.S. Army in 1971.

He retired in 1999 from Snap On Tools, at which time him and Bonnie traveled extensively. 

George was at the VA hospital in Manteno, IL for the last two years who took very good care of him. 

A memorial service will be held on August 5th 2023 at the VFW in Lockport IL. 1026 E Ninth St . from 1-5pm with rendering of military honors promptly at 3pm.
