FRED M. UNGER

Age 91, of Tinley Park, passed away Saturday, September 11th, 2021 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox.

Fred is survived by his loving family, wife, Wanda Unger (Huddleston), children, Lois (Scott) Robinson, Laura (Steven) Grizinski, Lisa (John) Avery, grandchildren, Kristen (Ken) King, Scotty (Mandy) Robinson, Nicole Robinson, Natalie Guzinski, Chase Avery, great grandchildren, Nathan King, Madeline King, Xander Robinson, sister in-law, Renetta Unger, nephew, Robert (Erick Sanchez) Unger, other endearing relatives, Bob Nelson, Judy Robinson, Randy Robinson, Bob Guzinski, Jeremy Horton, Carly Horton and Sarah Robinson.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin & Gertrude Unger (Ziegler) and brother Louis Unger.

Fred was a United States Navy Veteran and retired Chief of Police in Olympia Fields. He was a member of Kiwanis and the Fraternal Order of Police as well as a member of Faith United Presbyterian Church in Tinley Park.

Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Thursday, September 16th, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral service, Friday, September 17th, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment with full military honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood IL.
