Frank S. “Skip” Groboski

Age 76, of New Lenox, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at Silver Cross Hospital, New Lenox, IL. Skip was born in Chicago, IL to the late Frank and Frances (nee Skorski) Groboski. Beloved husband of Katherine “Kathy” (nee Wachholz); loving father of Scott (Joelle) Groboski; cherished grandfather of Nolan Groboski; dear brother of Robert (Debbie) Groboski and the late Carole (Jim) Richter; loved cousin, uncle, great uncle and friend of many. Skip was a Cardiac Catheterization Technician that worked for several hospitals, retiring from Morris Hospital in 2017. He was a proud U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and an avid card carrying die-hard Cubs fan. Skip will be missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers memorials in Skip’s name to the American Kidney Fund, or Honor Flight Chicago would be appreciated. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox, IL on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, from 3pm – 8pm. Funeral Services Wednesday, August 2, 2023, with prayers at the funeral home at 11:30am to St. Jude Catholic Church, New Lenox, IL for Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00pm. Inurnment with full military honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
