64, of New Lenox, passed away peacefully at home with his beloved wife by his side on Saturday, January 16, 2021. Erich was born in Chicago, IL to the late Harry and Virginia (nee Burrell) Thiem. Loving husband of Beverly Dawn (nee Harper) Thiem; dear brother of the late Robert (Lisa) Thiem, David S. Thiem, and Delores (Bob) Nester; loved uncle of Christine Thiem, Natalie (Jeremy Vargas) Thiem, and Michael (Brittany) Thiem and family; cherished great uncle of Nico Thiem and Lola Vargas; Godfather of Laura, Michelle, Mike, Sage, and Harmony. Erich was an Interior Designer with U.S. Marble/Home Depot. In keeping with Erich’s support of America’s Service Men and Women, in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to secure.uso.org in Erich’s name. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 from 1:00pm until time of Funeral Service at 3:00pm. Interment will be private. Social distancing and masks are MANDATORY for ALL in attendance. No food allowed in the funeral home.
