Emily Gawlik

Emily Tobiasz LaRoche Gawlik, age 94, died on April 11, 2018 in Fort Myers, Florida. From her birth in Chicago on November 16, 1923 to her death on Wednesday, she entertained people around her with humor and stories of her large family. On November 4, 1944, she married "Sonny" LaRoche in Chicago. The young couple spent many years in Chicago, and Chicago Heights, IL before retiring to Florida. Left to honor Emily are her five children: Don (Sandy) LaRoche, Diane (Roger) Costello, Dave (Jean) LaRoche, Jim (Patti) LaRoche and Jeff LaRoche; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. Emily was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ted, sister Mary, and husbands, "Sonny" LaRoche and Stanley Gawlik. A celebration of life will be held for Emily at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E.
