Elizabeth Mary O’Neill (nee Kirchner)
Age 89, of New Lenox, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. Betty was born in Chicago, IL to the late Matthew and Elizabeth (Ruff) Kirchner. Beloved wife of the late Edward Rykiel, the late Davey Currier, and the late John “Jack” O’Neill; loving mother of Matt (Bonnie) Rykiel, Suzie (Rich) Thill, Martin (Carol) Rykiel and Ann (Steve) Sallay; cherished grandmother of 8 and great grandma of 10; dear sister of the late Fred (late Maryanna) Kirchner, the late Ann (late Louis) Carli, the late Lil (late Bill) Hranka, and the late Rose Kirchner; loved aunt of numerous nieces and nephews; loving stepmother of Mary Margaret Dyas, Barbara (Robert) Hoyt, George (Arlene) O’Neill, John Patrick (Kathy) O’Neill, the late Daniel O’Neill. Donna (late Rick) Coleman, Marybeth (Dr. John) Timmons, Michael (Denise) O’Neill and Joseph O’Neill; numerous step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren also survive. Betty was a member of the C.C.W. at St. Jude Church and an active member of the parish. She was a lifetime member of Stone City Kennel Club. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd. New Lenox on Sunday, March 27, 2022, from 1pm – 6pm. Funeral services Monday, March 28, 2022, with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30am then to St. Jude Catholic Church, New Lenox for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Interment at Maplewood Cemetery, New Lenox.
