EILEEN VELIA SKIBA

Eileen Velia Skiba. March 17, 1951 – Jan 20, 2013. Late of Manhattan, IL. Also resided in Frankfort, IL for many years. Survived by her husband Harold Bach III, her daughters Kim (Jason) Maholy, Rebecca (Greg) Anger, and a son Charles Ryan Campagne, seven grandchildren with 1 on the way, brother Conrad (Mary) Skiba and sister Joyce (John) Mell, numerous nieces and nephews, father-in-law Harold (Margo) Bach Jr., daughter-in-law Brittany (Justin) Mullinax, son-in-law Harold (Rochelle) Bach IV, and ex-husband Charles N. Campagne. Preceded by her parents Conrad and Velia Skiba. Eileen was born and raised in the Roseland neighborhood of Chicago. She attended Van Vlissingen Elementary School and Fenger High School, Class of 1968. Eileen was an accomplished scuba diver and underwater photographer and loved the sport so much that she earned the rating of Master Instructor. And in return, she was completely beloved by all of her students. She also loved to travel around the world taking her students to visit new dive sites. She was employed full-time in the Scuba industry for the last 10 years. In addition to teaching, she was the show coordinator for the Our-World Underwater scuba show for 5 years and then a dive travel consultant for Ultimate Dive Travel for the last 3 years. Eileen was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December 2011, underwent extensive chemotherapy to shrink the tumor and then surgery to remove it. She was in remission from June 2012 until November 2012 when the cancer returned. She put up a courageous fight until the very end. She will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 Wednesday, January 23rd, 2013 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM.
