EDWARD W. JOHANSON

Age 85 of New Lenox, passed away peacefully, Saturday, March 15th, 2014, at his home in New Lenox, IL.

Ed is survived by his loving family, his wife of 58 years, Jean Johanson (Brown), children, Susan (Richard) Lentz, Debra (Allen) Klausing, grandchildren, Krystle (Kevin) Callarman and Katy Klausing.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Karl & Gerda Johanson, Sr. (Gundberg) and brother, Karl Johanson, Jr. Ed was a veteran of the Army Air Force and a life member of the VFW in New Lenox Post #9545. He was also a member of the New York Masons and the United Methodist Church in New Lenox.

Ed retired from Argonne National Laboratory in Lemont. He enjoyed his annual fishing trip to Canada with his college buddies every year since 1954. Ed loved gardening and taking care of his wife, children and grandchildren.

A private graveside service was held on Tuesday, March 18th, 2014, at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association would be appreciated.
