EDWARD W. GABRIEL JR.


Age 73, passed away on Friday, April 9th, 2021 in Wisconsin.

Edward is survived by his loving family, children, Dennis (Deborah) Gabriel, Kevin (Sharon) Gabriel, former wife and lifelong friend, Linda Gabriel (Verley), best friend, Katrina (Jeff) Stood, siblings, Donna Thurman, Frank (Melissa) Gabriel, Bill Gabriel and seven other siblings. “Papa” of David Gabriel, Samantha Gabriel and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Edward (Rina) W. Gabriel Sr., and Alice (Thomas) Flanagan (Sickles).

Edward was a United States Navy Veteran who served his country for 9 ½ years. He was a member of the Masonic Lawn Lodge #768 and American Legion Posts #232 & #819. Edward was an avid motorcycle enthusiast as well as an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, camping and boating.

DUE TO THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC; MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND ALL SERVICES AND NO FOOD IS ALLOWED IN THE FUNERAL HOME AT THIS TIME.

Family will receive friends Sunday, April 18th, 2021 from 1:00 PM until time of funeral service at 6:00 PM at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Frances Road, New Lenox, IL 60451. Interment will be private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations to any veteran’s organization would be appreciated.
