89, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017. Ed was born in Chicago to the late Kazmir and Bernice (nee Gajewicz) Krol. Beloved husband of the late Marie (nee Super); loving father of Thomas (Christine), Robert (Gayle), Richard (Susan), Jack (Lawrence), Lucille (Paul) Sterk; cherished grandfather of Kimberly Whipple, Jeffrey (Monica) Krol, Andrew (fiancé Maribel) Krol, Amy (Joseph) Junius, Lauren (James) Cassidy, Kathleen (Jeff) Bienick, Christopher (Leah) Krol, Victoria Krol, Stephanie (Ted) Rimstidt and Paul Sterk; great grandfather of Kaelyn and Matt Whipple, Peter Krol, Finley Krol, Felicity Junius and Lily Marie Cassidy. Ed was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of Sheet Metal Workers Union Local #73. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ed's name to St. Jude Church, New Lenox would be appreciated. The family will receive friends at St. Jude Catholic Church 241 W. Second Ave. New Lenox, IL 60451 on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from 9:30am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am. Private interment with Honors, will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
