Duane S. Warning, age 79, a lifelong resident of Frankfort. Illinois, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family beside him on Monday, May 1st, 2023.

Duane was born in Joliet, Illinois, to the late Stanley V. and Violet M. (nee Lorenzen) Warning. Beloved husband of 56 years to Eleanor “Ellie” (nee Zimmerman) Warning; loving father of Michael (Meghan) Warning, Eric (Andrea) Warning, and Christopher Warning; cherished “Papa” of Nathan, Elizabeth “Ellie”, and Lily Warning; dear brother of Dean Warning.

Duane graduated from Lincoln-Way High School in 1961 and attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale where he played basketball on an athletic scholarship. He graduated from SIU in 1965, and then began his lifelong career as a pilot with TWA retiring in 2002.

He was an accomplished outdoorsman. In his retirement, he enjoyed hunting at his beloved “deer camp” in Central Illinois, spending time with his sons and grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, an incredible father and grandfather, and a friend to everyone he met. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
