Dorothy Catherine Grimm (nee Gebhart)
88, formerly of Chicago and New Lenox, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Hartsfield Village in Munster, IN. Dorothy was born in Chicago to the late Francis and Stella (nee Galewski) Gebhart. Beloved wife of the late John Bernard Grimm; loving mother of Gaylyn (Steve) Pollard, Glen Grimm, and Greg Grimm; cherished "Grandma Dot" of Lauren Grimm, Jackie Grimm, Madeline Grimm, Natalie Grimm, and Greyson Grimm; dear sister of Lucille (the late Don) Jaskolski, the late Frances Smith, the late Clare (late Stanley) Wisniewski, and the late Emil John (Irene) Gebhart; fond aunt of numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a former member of Hurley/Tarkington PTA, a former Den Mother of Cub Pack #3678 and Treasurer of Scout Troop #678, a former member of Ladies Guild and CCD Teacher for Queen of the Universe Church, Chicago, and founding member of Lincoln-Way SCAT. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dorothy's name to Society of the Little Flower, Darien, IL would be appreciated. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, IL 60451 on Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 3pm - 6pm. Funeral Service Monday, October 17, 2016 with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30am to St. Jude Catholic Church, New Lenox for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Interment at Abraham National Cemetery will be private.
