Diane E. Johnson, 77, of Mexico, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021, at her home.



A Private Family Service will be held on Tuesday, February 23, at Kurtz Memorial Chapel in Frankfort, Illinois. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery in Mokena, Illinois.



A Celebration of Life in Missouri will be held at a later date.



Ms. Johnson was born on May 10, 1943, in Joliet, Illinois, the daughter of Kenneth and Edna (Bettenhausen) Brown. On September 22, 1962, in Mokena, Illinois, she married Oliver W. Johnson.



Diane was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Illinois. She and her husband, Oliver, were farmers. She worked at several businesses including Hardees, Mexico High School for 15 years, Audrain County Sheriff’s Department for 15 years, as well as cleaning area houses and offices. Diane was a member of Journey of Angels – a mission in Haiti and a supporter of the Shriners. She spent her leisure time reading and cross stitching.



Survivors include one daughter, Marretta (David) Fierge of O’Fallon; one son, Walter Johnson (Carla Marcum) of Mexico; one granddaughter, Meaghan Fierge of Mexico; one grandson, Jeramey (Stephanie) Fierge of O’Fallon; one great-grandson, Karsyn Fierge of Mexico; seven siblings, Donna Brown of Minnesota, Cathleen (Eddie) Gordon of Illinois, Joan Troha of Arizona, Yvonne Zinker of Springfield, Missouri, Marla Brown-Cahill of Camdenton, Missouri, Dean Brown of Illinois and Marcia (Curtis) Dees of Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.



Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver W. Johnson; and two brothers, Barry Brown and Dale Brown.



The family requests memorial donations be made to Little Dixie Shrine Club or the Journey of Angels. All may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
