Dennis V. Pajerski
March 10, 1940 - January 7, 2021

Dennis was 80+ when he passed at home with his family at his side. He was born in Chicago to Joseph and Phyllis Pajerski, the youngest of two, older sister Audrey. Dennis attended Gordon Tech High School, ultimately graduating from Kelly High School in 1959. Dennis was the quarterback and lettered in football.

Dennis joined the U.S. Marines, leaving for bootcamp 2 weeks after marrying Phyllis Krolewczyk on July 15, 1962. Dennis proudly served his country for seven years, remaining a faithful patriot until the end. He told Phyllis he “got what he wanted” when his daughter Jodi arrived in 1965. He loved supporting his children and their sports. He coached his son Dennis in football and later in life enjoyed spending time on the golf green with him. Numerous memories were made while traveling with his youngest daughter, Penny, for competitive swimming activities where he would always reward her hard work with McDonald’s fries and Coke.

Dennis worked for the Enterprise Group, later becoming part-owner of the business, when the name was changed to Modernfold Doors of Chicago. Modernfold worked with local professional organizations to design and install partition doors. You can see some of Dennis’ work at the McCormick Place, Navy Pier, Soldier Field, U.S. Cellular Field (Guaranteed Rate) and The United Center in Chicago. They eventually expanded into the Central and South Florida markets where they serviced various educational, hospitality and governmental organizations throughout the region.

Dennis was an athlete. Proud to have ownership stock in the Green Bay Packers, he enjoyed watching them play every Sunday, deeming the Bears “not good enough” once the Chicago Cardinals left the city. Starting In the 1970’s, Dennis was one of the developers of the Oak Forest Raiders Pop Warner Youth Football program, where he loved coaching and mentoring young athletes, along with watching them grow and develop their skills through the program. A true Chicagoan, he was a lifelong White Sox fan, playing 16” softball and racquetball. He participated in recreational hockey and bowling leagues and enjoyed taking his family to Blackhawks games at the old Chicago Stadium.

Dennis loved his family and getting on his wife’s nerves the most. Phyllis would say his true love was his 1960 Corvette, but family knows it was Phyllis, who he would say put up with his “crap” for 65 years. He enjoyed traveling the world with his wife and especially loved Hawaii most of all. A true cowboy at heart, Dennis enjoyed watching old Westerns especially John Wayne. He enjoyed making memories at family gatherings as well as vacationing with his extended family. He was well loved by all who knew him, especially by his brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Loretta (Krolewczyk) Bulat; predeceased by William and Virginia (Krolewczyk) Bonk. His many nieces and nephews loved going over to Uncle Dennis and Aunt Phyllis’ house for sleepovers. He had the nickname of ‘Grumpa’ from his granddaughter’s (Amanda, Nichole, Amy and Kyra), but they knew Papa was a softie at heart.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 58+ years, Phyllis, children Jodi Bukovsky of Aurora, IL, Dennis of Frankfort, IL and Penny (Robert) Cure of Roscoe, IL. Four granddaughters Amanda, Nichole, Amy and Kyra and his great-grandson, Luka. He is survived by numerous extended family along with his lifelong best friends.

Dennis always looked to bring a smile and a laugh to everyone's faces around him and will always be remembered for his sarcastic quick wit, and gentle heart. Much like his life, Dennis left on his own terms and did it his way.
