Age 68, a resident of Mokena, IL., passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020. Beloved husband of Patricia (Zarnecki); loving father of Amy (Tom) Georgakopoulos and Andrew (Thomas) Benson; cherished grandfather of Thomas Jr. (Rachel Aldeir), Andrew, and Alayna; dear brother of the late Carolann Benson, Kenneth (Suzanne) Benson, Joan (late Peter) Winker, Deborah (Mike) Winans, late Douglas (late Vicki) Benson, and Audrean (Kevin) Jurgens; also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews, and his beloved dogs Max and Bentley. He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Evelyn Benson (Gilette). Dennis was a trustee for the Mokena Fire Protection District from 1999-2006. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and traveling. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 3-7 PM. Prayer service private for the family. WEARING FACE MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING ARE MANDATORY FOR ALL IN ATTENDANCE. NO FOOD PERMITTED IN THE FUNERAL HOME.
