Age 77, a resident of Mokena formerly of Oak Forest and Chicago Ridge, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021. Loving husband of the late Patricia Berna (Gasik); loving stepfather of Patricia (Ronald) Rickman and Steven (Jody) Kowalewicz; dearest father of Kimberly Johnson and Paula (LJ) Reicheldorfer; fond brother of Doris (Tom) Eastman and Dee Dee (Tom) Kruse; cherished grandfather of Kendra Berna, Shannon Johnson, Katrina Easton, Zariah Johnson, Tessa Rickman, Sam Rickman, Zachary Kowalewicz and Breanna Kowalewicz; proud great grandfather of Edward and Remington. David was a tool and die maker for Landis Plastics and Berry Plastics in Chicago Ridge. He was a member of Musky Inc., an avid fisherman, he enjoyed bowling and playing softball. He played minor league baseball. A visitation will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort IL 60423 on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the American Cancer Society or the National Wildlife Refuge System in his name would be appreciated.
