Darrell K. Ortiz

Darrell K. Ortiz, age 73, a resident of the Orland Park and Mokena areas, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn. Loving husband of Christine Ortiz (Opalacz); beloved father of Brian (Kristen) Ortiz and Pete (Ann) Ortiz; cherished grandfather of Payton, Kaitlyn, Leah, Bailey, Ashleigh, Eli and Brody; dearest brother of Darlyn (Tom) Graczyk. He was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Pearl (Sanders) Ortiz; brothers Jeffrey (Barbara) Ortiz, Edward Ortiz and Denis Ortiz. Darrell was the Founder and President of Ortiz Mechanical Contractors and Founder of Ortiz Contracting Group. He was a board member for Hispanic American Construction Industry Association (HACIA), member of Pipefitters Local 597, and the Mechanical Contractors Association (MCA). He was a graduate of Bogan High School, licensed Private Pilot, member of Parkview Christian Church and prior member of Christian Hills Church. A visitation will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort IL 60423 on Sunday, August 28, 2022, from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral Service will be held at Parkview Christian Church, 11100 Orland Parkway, Orland Park, IL 60467, Monday, August 29, 2022, at 10:00 AM with a visitation from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM. Please Park vehicles in the East parking lot at Parkview. Interment will follow to Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Frankfort IL.
