Age 25, of New Lenox, IL, passed away unexpectedly in Bloomington, IL. Chase was born in Oak Lawn, IL and was the beloved son of Michael and Julie (nee Jarski) Garand; loving brother of Cassidy Garand; cherished grandson of Rosalie and Frank Jarski and the late Robert Norris Garand and the late Alice Marie Garand; and beloved nephew of Rob and Barb Garand, Teri Garand, Mary (nee Garand) Thomas, John and Sue Garand, Burt and Susie Garand, Carol (nee Garand) Ummel, (Funcle) Chris Garand and Valerie Swanson, Helen Jarski, and Godmother Leah Bielski.
Chase was a kindhearted, caring, and compassionate person with a terrific sense of humor that will be missed by all. In his youth, Chase loved football and lacrosse and enjoyed many camping trips with his immediate and extended family. Chase was an intelligent and creative person who pursued his interest in technology. Chase was appreciated as a hardworking, responsible employee by many. Chase’s substance use disorder challenged him, but it did not define him, as he continued to be a sweet son and a loving grandson, and he continued to have a special, caring, and loving connection to his sister. Chase was surrounded by many uncles, aunts, and cousins who loved him and whom he loved in return. Chase also had many longtime and treasured friendships.
The family will receive friends and relatives at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 3pm-8pm. Funeral service will be Wednesday, April 13, 2022, with prayers at Kurtz Memorial Chapel at 10:30am, then Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jude Catholic Church, 241 W. 2nd Ave., New Lenox at 11:00am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to your favorite charity.
