Catherine W. Cooney

Catherine Cooney (nee Graaman), age 85, passed away peacefully at her home on February 25, 2021.
Catherine is survived by her loving husband Thomas Cooney; children, Cynthia (Daniel) De Vivo, Richard Cooney, Brian (Phyllis) Cooney, and Sean Cooney; grandchildren, Raymond De Vivo, Mitchell De Vivo, Kalie De Vivo, Bailee Cooney, Ashley Smith, Taylor Smith, Jamie Muzika, Kayleen Cooney, Sean Cooney Jr. Breanna Cooney, and Riley Cooney; siblings, Richard Graaman and Thomas Graaman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents John and Gertrude (nee Goodchild) Graaman; and her siblings Betty Brennan and John Graaman.
Catherine lived in New Lenox for the last 7 years, and was formerly of Burbank, IL. She was a proud parishioner of Saint Jude Catholic Church and Saint Albert Catholic Church. She will be remembered for being a sun loving woman who found great joy in relaxing by her pool. She also enjoyed taking vacations with her beloved family.
Services for Catherine will begin with a visitation at Kurtz Memorial Chapel in New Lenox, 102 E. Francis Rd. on Monday, March 1, from 4pm until 8 pm. On Tuesday, March 2, a visitation will be held from 9am until 10am with a funeral service held at 10 am at the Kurtz New Lenox Chapel. Catherine will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Alsip, IL.
