Caryl A. Carstens (Lund)

Age 82, a resident of Frankfort, IL, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2020.

Loving Mother of Andrea (John) McCarthy, Yvonne (Robert) Normoyle, Mark (Jennine) Carstens, and to Caryn (Matt) Haberkorn.
Cherished grandmother of Kevin, Lauren (Joe), Joe (Katie), Kyle (Caitlin), Jordan (Ashley), Emily, Silas, Carys, Lincoln, Kajsa, Justus and Jonas.
Great grandmother of Clark, Abby, Lydia, Levi, Tyler and Wyatt.
Proud dog mom of her dachshund Riley, who was always at her side.

Caryl was preceded in death by her parents, Al and Emma (Erickson) Lund, and siblings late Randy (Jeanne) Lund and late Barbara (Paul) Granholm.

Caryl was a faithful follower of Jesus who loved to study her Bible. She especially enjoyed time studying with the women of Hickory Creek Church and First Baptist Church of Pentwater, MI. A lifelong and gifted children’s educator, she retired as a CPS teacher but continued teaching in children’s ministry at Hickory Creek Church. Caryl was an animal lover, and avid reader, and a prolific artist who especially loved to paint cardinals. She loved to sing and spent many years involved in different choirs. She was always up for an adventure, trip or a social gathering, but her very favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family.

Visitation with family with be Friday, September 25, 2020 from 5-9 PM at Hickory Creek Church, 10660 W. Lincoln Highway, Frankfort, IL 60423. Masks required for all in attendance. Private Memorial Service, Saturday, September 26th, 2020 at 10:30 AM at Hickory Creek Church.
