Carol Ann Moore

Carol Ann Moore of Orland Park, IL, was born into eternal life with the Lord on the Feast of the Epiphany Sunday, January 7, 2018 with the love and support of family and friends. As the Scripture for that Mass read: "Arise, robe yourself in light, for your Light has come." (Is 60:1).
Carol was born in Chicago on January 3, 1943, to Leonard and Louise Moore. She dedicated her life to the Lord through generous service to others. She provided loving care to her parents, sisters, brothers-in-law, and friends during illnesses and at death.
She joyously taught elementary grades at St. Agnes School in Springfield, IL, St. Michael School in Orland Park, IL, and Lee R. Foster Elementary School in Tinley Park, IL. At the latter school, she also served as a compassionate assistant principal.
Carol was a faithful member of St. Julie Billiart Church in Tinley Park, IL, and of St. Columcille Church in Sullivan, IL.
An engaging conversationalist, a gracious host, and a giver in so many ways, Carol blessed the lives of her beloved family and many dear friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Elaine Kohler and Camille Korabik, brothers-in-law Vernon Kohler and John Korabik, and nephew Mark Kohler. She is survived by a nephew Jeff (Maureen) Kohler, of Philadelphia, PA; great-nieces Emily, Kathleen (John), Clare (Sean), and Madeline; and great-great niece and nephew Rachel and Timothy. She cherished her lifelong friendships with Fr. John Sohm and Marge DelPriore.
Carol remains in the hearts and prayers of many more devoted friends throughout the country, including the Chicago area, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Arizona, and her second home in Sullivan, IL. Carol's extended list of "sisters" is a long one.
Giving of herself completely, even in death, Carol requested that her body be given to the Gift of Hope and to the Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois. Memorials may be made to either of these organizations.
Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday January 13 at 11:30am at Saint Julie Billiart in Tinley Park, IL. A second Memorial service will be celebrated in Sullivan, IL at a future date. www.kurtzmemorialchapel.com or 815-485-3700 for info.
