CARL PAUL CARDINAEL

Age 86 of Sun City West, AZ passed away March 14th, 2014 at Hospice of Arizona – Del Webb in Sun City West, AZ.

Carl was born on February 11, 1926 in Chicago, IL, and grew up with his parents and two sisters. He enlisted in the United States Navy, serving in the South Pacific during WWII on a LST.

Following the war, Carl returned home and went to work for Sears. He met Lenore there, and they married on April 19, 1947. Carl worked several years for Sears in auto repair and displays. In the early 1950's he went to work for Richman Brothers Men's Clothing as the Display Manager, while also co-managing concession stands at large outdoor movie theaters in the Chicago area.

Upon retirement in 1990, Carl and Lenore moved to Sun City West. He worked in most, if not all, of the Sun City West Recreation Centers for the next 15 plus years, until his health required him to stop working.

Carl is survived by his loving family, wife, Lenore Cardinael (Welsh), son, Barry (Debbie) Cardinael, grandchildren, Jordan Cardinael and Noah Cardinael.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Paul & Elvera Cardinael (Coppejans), siblings, Elsie Schraeder and Emma Kay.

Carl was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sun City West, AZ.

Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort IL 60423 on Saturday, March 22, 2014 from 10:00 AM until time of funeral service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
