Bill Dyer

April 23, 1941 — February 3, 2022

On Wednesday, February 3, 2022 William Matthew Dyer, loving husband and father of four children, passed away at the
age of 80 in The Villages, Florida.

Bill was born in St. Louis, Missouri on April 23, 1941. After attending St. Louis Country Day and Lutheran High he joined
the US Army Reserve. He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis and worked for The Famous-Barr Co. as a
buyer until moving to Knoxville, TN and later to Chicago where he worked in the specialty food industry for many years. In
1989 he became co-owner and president of M-B Candies, Inc. He retired to Florida in 2019.

An enthusiastic sports fan with a passion for golf, he made many life-long friends on the golf course. Bill had an optimistic
approach to life. He was easy-going, kind and compassionate. He loved life.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William and Virginia, brother Frank and son Bill. He is survived by his wife
Kathy and their son Matthew; his daughter Stephanie, and her five children – Jessica, Jenna, Lou, Sue and Sun; son
Greg, (Karla) and their two children Brooke (Taylor) and Alex; great-granddaughter Addison. He is also survived by his
brother Brooks (Teena) and several much-loved nephews and nieces.

A Memorial Service will be held from noon to 4:00 o’clock on Friday, March 25, 2022 at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old
Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423. Donations may be sent to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka,
