Beatrice A. Despain

Beatrice A. DeSpain (nee Azarskis)

Age 88 of Bradford, Illinois died on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at her daughter’s home in New Lenox, Illinois. Beatrice was born in Chicago to Joseph and Marie (nee Mazeda) Azarskis in 1933. Fondly known as Bea, she grew up in Granville, Illinois. She met Carl DeSpain at a roller rink, and they were married in 1953. They had 11 children. Carl preceded her in death in 1975. Also preceding her in death are her parents, Joe and Marie and one brother Raymond.

She is survived by 7 daughters, Fran Meadow (Ron), Bridget Lottman, Paulette Six (Dave: deceased), Cathy Kieser (Mark), Charlene Mings (Ken), Tracy Tijerina, Carla Wallis (Tim), and four sons, Dennis (Susan), Patrick (Annette), Michael (Mary), and Chris (Deb); many grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother Eugene and two nephews, Gene and Rodney.

Bea retired from Prairie View Nursing home and then worked at the Plantation in Princeton, Illinois while becoming a master gardener at age 65. She enjoyed her garden club and the many trips they took. She also enjoyed recipes and magazines, that she loved to share.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Memorials in Bea’s name may be made to Lightways hospice in Joliet, Illinois.
