Robert A. Laning, 51, of Joliet, IL, passed away on October 1, 2026. Born on December 1, 1974, in Chicago, he was the cherished son of the late Larry Laning and Sharon (Gary Cheney) Laning. Robert was a devoted husband to Beth (nee Cejka) Laning, with whom he shared a beautiful marriage of 24 years.

He is lovingly remembered by his siblings, including his sister Christine (Darryl) Navarre, and his fondness for his nieces and nephews-Maya and Brody Navarre, as well as Quinlan and Lane Cejka. He was also a beloved son-in-law to Richard and Linda Cejka and a supportive brother-in-law to Joel (Colleen) Cejka.

Bobby, as he was affectionately known, was a man of kindness and compassion, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. His "wicked sense of humor" brought joy and laughter to everyone fortunate enough to know him, making a lasting impact on their lives.

A visitation in honor of Robert will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 3:00 PM until the time of the chapel service at 7:30 PM. Following the service, interment will be private.

Robert's legacy of love and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends. His presence in our lives will be missed but never forgotten.
