Patricia “Patty” Jensen (née Hartney)

Patricia “Patty” Jensen, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away on May 3, 2026, at Lightways Hospice in Joliet.

Patty was born to Patrick (late Joyce) Hartney and Helen (Mike) Sullivan. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Helen, brother-in-law Gilly, aunts and uncles and nephew Alec.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry; her daughters, Sarah (Anthony) Catt and Melissa (Julianna Briggs) Jensen; and her cherished granddaughter, Sylvia. Patty is also survived by her sisters, Debbie (late Tom) Gill , Kathy Henderson, and Kelly Eaker (Doug Bruyn), and brother-in-law Jim (Donna) Jensen, along with nieces and nephews Michelle, Brian, Zak, Maeghan and Andrew.

Patty found her greatest joy in her family. She loved spending time with those closest to her and treasured moments outdoors, where she felt most at peace. She will be remembered for her incredible strength and her quick wit, always able to bring laughter to any room and lift the spirits of those around her..

A Memorial Gathering will be held on May 7 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd., New Lenox. A Family Time of Reflection will take place at 6:30 PM.

Burial will be at Elmhurst Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to support her granddaughter’s education.

Patty will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her love, warmth, and devotion to her family.
