Lanty Bruce Hodge Sr., 83, of Treasure Island, FL passed away Monday, June 22, 2026, surrounded by family at Silver Cross Hospital. Lanty was born in Tarrs, PA to Edgar B. and Ruth "Betty" (nee Hypes) Hodge on November 12, 1942. 

Lanty met the love of his life, Judy (nee Moore) while in college in Florida and they wed soon after on June 1, 1963. Together they enjoyed 52 beautiful years of marriage and raised their four children in Crete, IL.

Lanty retired from MetLife in 2005 where he proudly worked as a marketing specialist. In retirement he and Judy cherished time spent escaping midwest winters to their condo in Treasure Island, Florida. They made countless memories here and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: Gulf Coast sunsets, happy hours with loved ones, sharing a glass of chilled chardonnay by the water, and music from Jimmy Buffett and Willie Nelson. A quiet and thoughtful man, Lanty was known for his kind words, gentle humor, and easygoing nature. He was hardworking and dependable, yet he taught his family that some of life’s greatest moments are found in slowing down, appreciating the simple everyday things, and making time for the people you love. He shared a special bond with his miniature schnauzer, Bergy, who brought him great comfort and joy through the years. Most importantly, Lanty was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, and brother whose love was most often expressed through his steady presence and unwavering support. He will be remembered and missed greatly by so many. 

Lanty is survived by his children Kelly Hodge, Lanty Jr. (Aimee) Hodge, Rob (Lori) Hodge, Kerry Hodge, and Laurie Shoemaker Martin whom he was grateful to reconnect with in recent years; sisters Ruthy Hodge, Amy Hodge, Nancy Zachary, and Penni Lehmkuhle; brother in law Robert Moore; grandchildren Lindsey (Lynette Pestel) Terranova, Zachary (Kelly) Terranova, Ryan (fiance Kelsey Brown) Terranova, Jacob (Kristin) Terranova, Kevin (Mary) Terranova, Hannah (Jacob) Allen, Julianna (fiance Jake Sheley) Terranova, Lanty III Hodge, Jesse Lee (Jake) Scampini, Paden (fiance Victoria) Hodge, Nellie Ann Hodge, Conagher Hodge, and Emmett Hodge; great grandchildren Jack, Owen, Benjamin, Kalli-Jade, Teddy, James, Caleb, Reid, Charlotte, Jude, Sadie, Holly, and Daisy; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Edgar and Betty Hodge, brother Pat Hodge, wife Judy Hodge, and grandsons Matthew Terranova and Luke Terranova. 

His family would like to extend a special thank you to the medical professionals who cared for him over the years, including: Dr. Jain, Dr. Lee, Dr. Gurfinchel, Dr. Iyengar, Lindsay Thorgesen FNP-BC, and the ICU staff at Silver Cross including nurses Nicole and Cheryl. Their exceptional care brought comfort to Lanty and his family during a difficult time, and their kindness and guidance will never be forgotten. A private family gathering will be held to honor his life and legacy.
