Kathleen B. Murdock (nee Lynch)

Age 78 of New Lenox, IL passed away Monday, May 25, 2026. Kathleen was born in Chicago to the late Thomas and Esther (nee Houlihan) Lynch.

Beloved wife of Dennis C. Murdock; loving mother of Shawn (Karen) Murdock; loving grandmother to Christopher Gilley; dear sister of the late Maureen (late Leroy) Potempa, the late Eileen (late John) Cali, and the late Dorothy Bujanski; loved aunt, cousin, and friend of many.

Kathleen was a detective with the Chicago Police Department, retiring after 30 years of service. She was a graduate of Visitation High School, Chicago, IL. Kathleen loved tennis, playing a little bit, but mostly watching it. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, New Lenox, IL on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 3:00 pm until time of Memorial Service at 6:00 pm.
