Carolyn Wheeler, 85, of New Lenox, Illinois, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026. She was born on September 9, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose family was the most important part of her life. She was deeply dedicated to the people she loved, and her family was truly everything to her. Her greatest joy was being there for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and watching her family grow through the years.

Her faith and her church were also an important part of her life. She found solace and strength in her faith and it remained an important source of comfort throughout the years.

She is survived by her children, Kathy (Karl) Franson and Daniel (Sandy) Wheeler; her grandchildren, Ryan Franson, Adam Franson (McKayla), Brenden Franson (partner Katie), Molly Franson (partner Adam), and Tessa Wheeler (partner Dylan); her great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Cecilia, Noah, Cameron, and Quinn; and nieces and nephews. She will be lovingly remembered by her family for her devotion, her strength, and the important place she held in all of their lives.

For many years, she was a dedicated employee of Walgreens, where she worked faithfully and was a familiar and dependable presence to those around her. Her years of work reflected the same commitment and earnestness that she brought to every part of her life.

Her life was centered primarily around her family, and it was in that family that she found her greatest purpose and fulfillment. Her faith, her church, and the love she gave to her family were the cornerstones of her life. The love she gave to those around her will remain a lasting part of their lives.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Omar; her parents Henry and Charlotte and her step-father Frank; her siblings William, Ruth, Henry, and Roger; and her grandson Alex.

A visitation will be held on September 14th at 3:00 - 8:00pm at Kurtz Memorial Chapel at 102 Francis Rd, New Lenox, IL with a funeral service at 7:00pm. Interment is private.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved by her family.
